Recently, the US has implemented stricter controls on the export of emerging technologies, such as advanced semiconductors, AI and quantum computing, particularly targeting exports to China and other nations deemed to pose national security risks. Additionally, sanctions have expanded in response to global conflicts, notably against Russia due to its conflicts.

Julie Zhu 

Senior Director FTI Consulting
Julie specialises in regulatory compliance including export controls, sanctions and anti-money laundering. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Julie worked for a company listed on 
both the Hong Kong and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges. During her time at the company, Julie gained extensive knowledge of the telecommunications and financial services industry as well as compliance implementation. As Project Manager, she helped to build the company’s compliance programme with respect to Sanctioned Party List (“SPL”) screening, de minimis calculation, product classification, global sales compliance, sanction compliance and automatic system building. She also led the build-out of the risk assessment and compliance programme of two of the company’s subsidiaries.

Senior Director FTI Consulting
Di has experiences in regulatory compliance, including export compliance, antimoney laundering, and FCPA compliance review. Di has inhouse export control compliance exposure at a leading international technology company in 

Hong Kong. She is equipped with first-hand trade compliance operations experience to manage import and export authorization in the APAC region. She has worked with internal and external stakeholders toimplement a global export 

compliance program to enhance and mitigate risks through system upgrade, policies and procedures optimization and business engagements.
