活动背景

China has remained ASEAN’s largest trading partner for 12 consecutive years, and ASEAN also became China’s largest trading partner in recent years. It is believed that this will continue for the next 2-3 decades or so. It is therefore a good timing for enterprises in China to understand the latest update on ASEAN export control regimes in order to understand how well the organization is ready and prepared for the coming big era. 

Thus, Ficient Global will hold webinar “Latest Development on Export Control on Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines in 2022”. We will invite trade compliance expert who is very familiar with Asian export control regimes to interpret and analyze the updates of export control in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines, including sanctions against Russia and other latest policies. Topics like how to conduct a pre-and post-audit and internal compliance program will also be mentioned.

George Tan

Principal    Global Trade Security Consulting Pte Ltd

George started to involve in export control since 1985. He specializes in international trade compliance with practical experience on export control compliance. George is familiar with Asian export control regimes and is an advisor to multinational corporations, small & medium enterprises and sovereign clients on strategic goods controls, with a particular focus on compliance and enforcement. 

George has advised and provided training on export controls in Armenia, Austria, Cambodia, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, UK, UN, US and Vietnam. He also established corporate export control policy and operating procedures for Panasonic, Hitachi Asia/Renesas Technology, he assumed leadership of the company’s export control committee. Subsequently, he led the export control team at a Big 4 firm and a US legal firm, helping to grow and develop that practice in Asia.
